We’re looking for an inspiring Branch Manager to lead our Cwmbran Branch at Monmouthshire Building Society. This position is 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9-5 (with a requirement to work a minimum of two Saturdays each month, given back as time in lieu). This role offers the chance to drive retail distribution strategy, enhance member engagement, and shape our presence in the community. What will you be doing?

As Branch Manager, you’ll lead our branch operations, ensuring every interaction with our members is positive and aligned with our values. You’ll drive the delivery of our retail strategy and manage all branch aspects, from team leadership to service quality. You’ll also oversee regulatory, operational, and conduct risk management, contributing to the society’s strategic goals and creating a meaningful impact within the Torfaen community.

 

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Cwmbran team to deliver exceptional service and achieve financial and non-financial goals.
  • Managing all regulatory, operational, and conduct risks within the branch in line with Monmouthshire’s risk appetite.
  • Overseeing member engagement, ensuring that their needs are at the heart of our services and actions.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with third-party providers, ensuring mutual benefit and smooth collaboration.
  • Tracking and analysing branch performance metrics to guide strategic decisions.
  • Ensuring that all health, safety, and welfare requirements are met and aligned with policy.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and enhance the Society’s retail distribution strategy.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior role within retail financial services.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of achieving impactful results.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the UK Building Society sector, including regulatory requirements and Consumer Duty implications.
  • Ability to deliver complex reports and presentations clearly and engagingly.
